Looking for a lively lunch spot in Cumming, GA? Pop into Giorgio’s Family Kitchen for a delicious meal. The restaurant is casual and inviting, with an abundant menu of Italian, Greek and American favorites.
Family-owned and operated by third generation restaurant owners Dmitri and Ellen Tzotzis, since 1991 Giorgio’s offers a wide range of pizza, hot and cold entrees, sandwiches and wraps, soups, and salads complemented by a full bar.
For lunch, I ordered eggplant parmigiana Florentine. Though the spinach was very subtle, the eggplant was perfection. Beautifully seasoned, lightly breaded, crispy with a soft center, and incredibly tasty. It was quite honestly the best eggplant parmigiana I’ve had in a very long time. Served with pasta, salad and toasted bread, it made a great midday meal.
On the way out of the restaurant, a fancy drink caught my eye. The bartender explained this was the “Greek Mary,” a classic cocktail with a twist. Giorgio’s makes its own infused vodkas, and this drink boasted a house-made pepper vodka. To top the drink, a skewer of veggies included a surprise element: a few slices of gyro meat! Next time, I’m trying one of these drinks.
You might want to do a bit of advance planning for the final stage of your Giorgio’s experience – the dessert case is filled to brimming with gorgeous mile-high cakes to suit every craving.
