In the small lakeside town of Beulah, Michigan, Crystal Crate and Cargo is a delight. Packed with beautiful tableware, gourmet cookware, linens and foods for the discerning chef, this shop is worth a visit. In fact, when I stopped by to purchase a ruffled tart dish and an assortment of porcelain tapas plates, the store was literally packed with visitors taking their time while they perused the store’s unique offerings.
Owner Sally Berlin is passionate about the business she founded. Her charming personality and her limitless knowledge about all things culinary make a visit to Crystal Crate and Cargo a memorable experience. Be sure to chat with her about your kitchen challenges and you’ll walk away with a style-packed solution.
One of my favorite finds in her shop are the exquisite bespoke Garnier-Thiebaut table
linens. Vivid and infinitely luxurious, these linens grace the tables of some of the world’s finest restaurants and resorts. Sold in custom-cut lengths, the fabric is renowned for its ability to hold its brilliant color after repeated washing. According to the Garnier-Thiebaut website, “Due to our technology and expertise, we guarantee color stability and resistance to high temperatures.” Now that’s an excellent reason to customize linens to match your own home’s decor.
Crystal Crate & Cargo is open seven days a week except Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. After all – those are the biggest cooking days of the year!
