At one time or another, every refrigerator has fallen prey to a really bad smell, a furry hunk of cheese or a shriveled piece of fruit. But what about leftovers from recipes you’ve prepared? How do you know when they are still safe to eat? And at what point are you
willing to take a chance on your health and well being?
To keep my family safe, I now have instituted a 3-day rule. After three days, leftovers must be discarded. It’s that simple.
Just like grocery store expiration dates on perishable products, my leftover containers are now labeled for my family’s safety.
No guessing games, no confusion.
All you need is a roll of freezer tape and a permanent marker. So stay food safe!
