Wander along the main avenue in San Jose’s tony Santana Row and you’ll arrive at Left Bank Brasserie, a Parisian style restaurant with outdoor bistro seating, French music and plenty of style.
We arrived at Left Bank during the Bastille Day celebration and took a seat outside. First up on the menu was the mousse de volaille, a luxuriously creamy rendition with a hint of brandy and a light, sweet, buttery texture. (Kudos to the chef!) Served with whole grain mustard, grilled French bread and cornichons, we savored every bite.
Next up were the French classic moules florentine, steamed and infused with a white wine, shallot, and Pernod garlic butter sauce. To sample another traditional French menu item, we tried the croque monsieur served on soft baked bread with Parisian ham and Mornay sauce with emmenthal cheese. With its side of arugula frisee salad in French vinaigrette, it was a perfect meal.
Time your visit right and you just might enjoy Santana Row’s live music while you dine.
