Farmers’ Markets fascinate me with their endless displays of lush fruits and vegetables. When I happen upon one that is new, I have to try it. Last week at the Ferry Building Farmers’ Market in San Francisco, I was browsing the veggies when I discovered this lovely lemon cucumber.
The flavor isn’t really reminiscent of lemons – just its color. And that is what makes this cucumber fun. Their flavor is sweet, they are juicy and tender, but they do contain edible seeds.
For a bit of whimsy, I cut the cucumber into wedges. What a perfect garnish for a cool glass of cucumber water!
