Balsamic glaze is a fabulous addition to your pantry. Add a few drops to a plated dish, zig-zag over grilled pork or chicken, drizzle over fresh buffalo mozzarella and sliced heirloom tomatoes.
In my pantry right now: Modenaceti Balsamic Glaze, about $6 from Fresh Market. I’ve also tried Blaze, which is slightly more expensive, but excellent. A few sources: www.igourmet.com and NJ Wegman’s Grocery Stores. Today I also came across a brand I’ll be sure to try – Gia Russa at Philadelphia’s www.gourmetofoldecity.stores.yahoo.net for $11.99.
Try this refreshing dessert – ripe nectarines, sliced just right and drizzled with your favorite balsamic glaze. Finish with a snifter of tawny port and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect evening.
